LDBSA Summer Snooker League 2026 – Week 1

The 2026 LDBSA Summer Snooker League got underway this week with three entertaining fixtures producing dominant wins, dramatic finishes and several standout individual performances. The newly formed handicaps showing up very well in week 1.

Hykeham B opened their campaign in impressive fashion with a convincing 4–1 victory over Cheeky B’s at Hykeham Social Club. Michael Morrison was one of the standout performers of the evening, securing two strong frame victories, while the pairing of Mark Handford and Dave Croft comfortably won the doubles frame.

Very Amateur also made an early statement with a 4–1 away win over Hykeham A. After losing the opening frame, the visitors responded superbly to take control of the match. Wayne Bean produced the highest break of the week with a break of 31 and, alongside Matt Todd, helped secure an important doubles victory.

The closest encounter of the week took place at the newly named Rack and Arrow venue (formerly Lincoln Snooker Club), where Who’s Round is it? edged past Hykeham C 3–2. Stu Cannings proved the key player, winning both of his frames including the deciding match against Steve Bailey in a tense final frame.
