Newark Belvedere’s title hopes suffered a setback after a narrow 4–3 home defeat to a strong Belvedere Showboats side. The visitors made the perfect start as Jimmy produced an excellent performance to defeat Dale 77–13 in the opening frame. Dale responded superbly in his second outing, overcoming Joe 71–37 to level the match at 1–1. The Showboats then seized control by claiming the next three frames. Jimmy continued his fine form, taking his second frame 78–53 against Adam, compiling a superb 40 break in the process. Bryan followed up with a 54–29 victory over Dave Jobling, before David Thompson made it three in succession with a convincing 69–17 win against Dave Jobling. Newark captain Rob rallied the home side with victories in the final two frames. He first defeated Bryan 80–39, then produced the highest break of the night — a fine 46 — during his emphatic 71–9 win over David Thompson. Despite the late surge, the Showboats held on for a valuable 4–3 triumph. League leaders Moorlands & Railway C secured a 4–3 home victory over Lincoln Snooker Club B in another closely contested encounter. Lincoln’s Glenn opened strongly, compiling a 35 break on his way to a dominant 57–1 win over Matt. The same pair contested the second frame, with Matt responding well to level matters thanks to a 59–34 success. Glenn claimed his second win of the night in the third frame, defeating Lee 63–43 to edge Lincoln ahead once more. However, Moorlands & Railway C took control from there, winning the next three frames to seal the match. Gav started the turnaround with a 51–22 victory over Calum. Home captain Daren then held his nerve in two tight contests, first overcoming Calum 64–56 and then edging past Chris 69–57 to guarantee the win. Chris claimed the final frame for Lincoln, defeating Jamie 69–37. Both sides still have a match in hand following an earlier postponement this season.

Lincoln Snooker Club D suffered only their third defeat of the season after losing to an improving Hykeham B side. Mark put Hykeham 2–0 ahead. He first came from behind to snatch a dramatic 51–50 black-ball victory over George, before comfortably defeating Adam 46–27 in his second frame. Stu pulled a frame back for Lincoln Snooker Club with a 53–41 win over Michael. Justin then levelled the match at 2–2 with an impressive 81–46 victory, also against Michael. Championship Secretary Darren restored Hykeham’s lead with a hard-fought 53–43 win over Phil. Darren then secured the match with another close contest, coming from behind to take a 57–51 black-ball victory against Stu. Hykeham move up to third place and have now taken fourteen points from their last three matches, bringing Lincoln’s eight-game unbeaten run to an end. Lincoln Snooker Club E climbed off the bottom of the league table with a 4–2 away win at Hykeham A. Sam opened the scoring for Lincoln with a narrow 57–49 victory over Rob. Charlie extended the lead to 2–0 by defeating Gary 64–46. The home side responded well, taking the next two frames to level at 2–2. Steve beat Phil 65–38 before Dan overcame Sam 57–18. Charlie restored Lincoln’s advantage with a 58–24 win over Steve, and Phil sealed the victory with a 60–46 success against Dan. Lincoln Snooker Club F reduced the gap to the league leaders to seven points following a con-vincing 5–1 away win at Castle Ward A. Glynn put the visitors ahead with a 57–24 win over Tim. Home captain Rob levelled the scores by defeating Glenn 57–26. John regained the advantage for Lincoln with a 65–48 victory over Adam, and Steve made it 3–1 after beating Tim 62–43. Glynn claimed his second frame of the night with a dominant 54–7 win against Rob, before John completed an unbeaten evening with a 64–24 victory over Adam. Lincoln Snooker Academy slipped to fourth place after being held to a 3–3 home draw by bottom side Moorlands & Railway A. Home captain Daniel put his side ahead with a 63–21 win over Josh. Trev levelled at 1–1 after defeating Jacob 58–26. Jacob stayed on for the third frame and edged a black-ball thriller against Steve, winning 51–48. John brought the match back to 2–2 with a 53–43 victory over Jayden. Jayden responded in style in his second frame, compiling an impressive 89–24 win over Nathan to put his side back in front. In the final frame, Josh and Dan-iel faced each other again, but this time Josh emerged victorious with a 45–35 win to secure a well-earned draw for Moorlands & Railway A.

Lincoln Snooker Club H recorded a much-needed 4–2 away victory over The Cube & Triangle to move within two points of their rivals. Leigh returned to winning ways after three straight defeats with a solid 52–21 win over Dan. Clive then edged a tight contest against Karl, taking the frame 56–48 to double the visitors’ advantage. The Cube responded well to level the match. Gary produced a strong 67–20 win over Tom before Marley defeated Leigh 58–37 to make it 2–2. Clive restored Lincoln’s lead with a composed 53–33 victory over Gary. In the final frame, Tom secured the win with a well-earned 45–25 success against Marley. Hykeham C 5–1 The Snooker Club Hykeham C continued their impressive run, stretching their unbeaten streak to eight matches with a convincing 5–1 victory. The opening frames were shared. Peter gave Hykeham the lead with a 52–26 win over Michael. Michael then responded immediately, edging past Robert 54–43 in a close encounter — a result that proved to be The Snooker Club’s only point of the evening. Hykeham captain Cyril put his side back in front with a 59–20 win over Cheeky, and Steve extended the advantage with a comfortable 49–11 victory against Jared. Robert made amends for his earlier defeat in emphatic fashion, defeating Cheeky 73–9. Peter rounded off the night with his second win, beating Jared 47–26 to complete the dominant 5–1 result. Castle Ward 3–3 Moorlands & Railway B Castle Ward held second-placed Moorlands & Railway B to a hard-fought 3–3 draw. Craig put Castle Ward ahead with an impressive 56–38 win over Andy Campbell. Matt then made it 2–0, coming from behind to edge out Duncan 48–45 on the black. Moorlands responded strongly, taking the next three frames. Scott defeated Dan 55–18, Kev beat Craig 46–17, and Phil put Moorlands ahead for the first time with a 44–28 win over Matt. The final frame saw Dan level the scores, defeating Andy Riggall 43–32 to ensure the points were shared.

Hykeham B have overtaken their A team in the Billiards League after they defeated Moorlands & Railway 2-0. Dan(+60) was up first against Leigh(+100), Leigh maintained his 40 point start but Dan pulled the deficit back towards the backend of the match and eventually won 200-175. Steve(+50) is improving all the time and he received a twenty point lead against his opponent Tristan(+30), in the end the twenty point start was the winning margin with Steve winning 200-177. Norton Disney have a slender one point lead at the top of Billiards League after they drew 1-1 with Castle Ward and they remain unbeaten. Rob(-800) remains unbeaten with 13 wins from 13 played, this week he defeated Nick(-70) 200-179 with breaks of 118,82,65 and 41. Lee(-20) levelled the scores at 1-1 when he defeated Anna(-20) 200-132. Norton Disney meet Hykeham B in two weeks time and the two Hykeham sides play each other next week. Also Norton Disney have yet to play Hykeham A in a re-arranged fixture, all in all it makes an interesting end to the season.
