Lincoln Snooker Club C Seal Thrilling 4–3 Win Over Newark Belvedere .
Lincoln Snooker Club C produced a cracking result this week, defeating one of the league’s front runners, Newark Belvedere, 4–3 in a closely contested encounter. Dale put the Newark side two frames up with victories over Wayne. The opening frame was a tight affair, Dale edging it 55–44, before compiling a 35 break in the second to secure a more comfortable 65–35 win. Matt Todd and Adam provided excellent entertainment in the third frame, with both players contributing no-table breaks. Adam compiled a fine 41 break, only for Matt to respond with a 30 of his own. It was Matt who edged the frame 51–46 to pull one back. Dave restored Newark’s two-frame ad-vantage after winning a tense black-ball decider against Matt Todd, 50–45. The pair met again in the following frame, but this time Matt turned the tables with an excellent 61–34 victory. Brian then stepped up with a superb performance against Matt Bavin, winning both his frames. He took the first 61–49 to level the match before sealing the decider 42–17, clinching a well-deserved 4–3 triumph for Lincoln. Showboats edge Moorlands & Railway in Another 4–3 Classic . League leaders Moorlands & Railway faced a strong Belvedere Showboats side in the Spec & Fix Premier League and initially found themselves in deep trouble, losing the opening three frames. Bryan claimed the first frame 62–10 against Daren. Jimmy then dominated two successive frames, defeating Daren 93–34 before overcoming Jamie 69–25. Matt got Moorlands on the board with a solid 78–52 win over Dave, helped by a 42 break. Gav followed up with an emphatic 87–0 whitewash against Bryan, compiling a 58 break in the process. Gav’s fine form continued as he beat Joe 94–13, including an excellent 68 break, to level the match. The final frame saw Dave secure a 71–18 victory over Lee, completing an excellent 4-3 win for the Showboats.

League leaders Lincoln Snooker Club D returned to winning ways with an impressive 5–1 victory over Moorlands & Railway A to extend their advantage at the top to nine points over second-placed Lincoln Snooker Club F. George set the tone with a 57–21 win over Trev, before Josh levelled matters for Moorlands & Railway A with a 56–34 success against Adam. From there, the league leaders took complete control. Stu restored the advantage with a 57–22 win over Steve. Justin then produced a superb double, first edging past Nathan 58–45 before compiling a break of 29 in a dominant 66–7 victory over John. Stu wrapped up the evening in style, claiming his second frame 59–36 against Liam, which included a fine break of 36. Hykeham A edged ahead in the table after a strong 5–1 win over Castle Ward A in a match that began with just one point separating the sides. Steve, enjoying an excellent season in both snooker and billiards, opened proceedings with a 65–29 win over opposing captain Rob Reeves. Dave marked his return after a two-week break with a 54–36 victory over Tim to make it 2–0. Rob Chapman extended the lead to 3–0 with a 73–47 win against Adam, before Dan made it 4–0, defeating Rob Reeves 57–22. Tim secured a consolation point for Castle Ward, winning a tense black-ball frame 53–48 against Gary. Rob Chapman then claimed his second frame of the night, 51–44 against Adam. The victory sees Hykeham A leapfrog Castle Ward into fifth place. Hykeham B have climbed into third place following a 4–2 success over Lincoln Snooker Club E. Mark got them underway with a 47–24 win over Tim, and Darren followed up by defeating Tim 55–26. Sam responded for the Snooker Club side with an impressive 48–10 victory against Dave. Chris restored the two-frame cushion with a 45–31 win over Phil, and Mark secured his second frame of the night with a solid 50–22 result against Sam. Phil claimed the final frame for Lincoln Snooker Club E, beating Darren 54–28. Lincoln Snooker Academy slipped to fourth place after being held to a 3–3 draw by Lincoln Snooker Club F. The Academy started brightly as Daniel defeated Glynn 59–43, followed by an excellent 71–45 win for Jayden over Noddy. Lincoln Snooker Club F responded strongly, taking the next three frames. Steve beat newcomer Paul 58–9, while Glenn also overcame Paul 62–22. Noddy then edged a high-scoring second meeting with Jayden, taking it on the black 72–68 despite a break of 33 from Jayden. The final frame mirrored the opener, with Daniel again defeating Glynn — this time 55–22 — to secure a hard-earned draw for the Academy.

Cube & Triangle Draw Again in Coutts Cues League Cube & Triangle have now drawn four of their last five matches in the Coutts Cues Snooker League, their latest being a creditable 3-3 draw with league leaders Hykeham C. Karl edged Cube & Triangle ahead with a 52-19 victory over Rob, but Hykeham responded strongly by taking the next three frames. Cyril levelled the match at 1-1 with a 54-23 win over Dan, before Michael beat Glynn 49-13. Paul then made it 3-1 to Hykeham with a 48-16 success against Marley. Dan reduced the arrears with a 48-32 win over Steve, and the comeback was complet-ed when Karl secured his second victory of the night, defeating Peter 63-36. Cube & Triangle have now drawn ten of their 24 matches this season. Lincoln Snooker Club G Claim Away Win Lincoln Snooker Club G secured a 4-2 away win at Castle Ward B. Olly and Gibbo put the visitors 2-0 up with victories over Jackson and Ken respectively. Ken gained revenge in his second frame of the evening, defeating Olly 68-14. Michael restored the two-frame advantage with a 39-14 win over Dan. Gibbo sealed the away victory with a 51-21 success against Matt, while the final frame went to the home side as Craig beat Cheeky 59-24 to give Castle Ward a more respectable scoreline. Moorlands & Railway B Return to Winning Ways Second-placed Moorlands & Railway B returned to winning ways after some indifferent results. Andy Campbell put Moorlands ahead with a 54-31 win over Leigh, followed by a black-ball decider in which Duncan edged Clive 54-47. Tom earned the Snooker Club’s first point with a 52-16 victory over Andy Campbell. Andy Riggall made it 3-1 by defeating Leigh 44-5, and Dun-can claimed his second frame of the night with a narrow 46-38 win over Tom. The final frame saw Clive beat Andy Riggall 61-34, but it was Moorlands who took the overall victory.

Hykeham A leapfrogged over their stablemates Hykeham B when they met at the Moor lane Club. Fraser (+10) for the A side put his team one up playing vey well throughout defeating Dan (+50 winning 200-157. The reliable Chris (Scratch) conceded forty points to his opponent Steve (+40) and with a break of 31 Chris eventually won 200-142. Hykeham have upper-hand and have two matches left and Hykeham B just the one remaining match which is against front runners Norton Disney. Castle Ward A were held to a 1-1 draw against a spirited Moorlands & Railway side. Nick (-60) was facing Leigh (+100) of the Moorlands had a 160 point start and with Nick’s potting ability soon made ground eventually winning 200-168. Tristan (+40) for the Moorlands levelled the scores (-30) 200-109. Castle Ward have a bye next week and their play match is against Hykeham A. The league title could be decided next week with the leaders, Norton Disney away to Hykeham B and they play Moorlands & Railway in the final week. Hykeham A are away to Moorlands & Railway and a tricky last match against Castle Ward. Which team will hold their nerves.
