Spec & Fix Premier League Match Report
Lincoln Snooker Club B vs Moorlands & Railway C There was no change at the top of the Spec & Fix Premier League, with the top two teams both securing 4–3 victories. Moorlands & Railway faced a tricky away fixture at Lincoln Snooker Club B. Daren put Moorlands ahead after coming from behind to win a black-ball frame 58–52 against Calum. Calum responded in the second frame, producing a fine 48 break to defeat Jamie 66–11. Glenn restored the lead for the home side, edging a black-ball frame 37–34 against Matt. However, Matt gained immediate revenge, beating Glenn 64–25 to level things once again. Calum then claimed his second win of the night in a low-scoring frame, defeating Gav 34–26. Lee brought Moorlands level with a solid 64–18 win over Chris. The final frame also went Moorlands’ way, with Gav sealing the victory in style, winning 75–23 to secure a 4–3 triumph. Belvedere vs Belvedere Showboats Belvedere, without Rob this week, faced Belvedere Showboats in another closely contested match. Dave Thompson gave the Showboats the perfect start, defeating Dale 68–15. Dale responded well in the next frame, beating Bryan 62–20 to level the scores. In the third frame, Bryan came from behind to edge past Matt on the black, winning 62–58. Matt then squared the match at 2–2 with a 60–32 victory over Joe. He followed this up by putting his side in front for the first time on the night, defeating Dave Thompson 78–58. Dave Jobling extended the lead to 4–2 for the away side with a 61–39 win over Joe. The final frame was nip and tuck throughout between Bryan and Dave, with Bryan eventually taking it on the black, 53–52.

Hykeham B are the form team at the moment, extending their unbeaten run to eight matches and closing the gap on second-placed Lincoln Snooker Club F. They will be hoping their A team can do them a favour in the final week of the season when they take on Lincoln Snooker Club F, while Hykeham B host the Academy side. Hykeham B were away at Castle Ward and secured their seventeenth win of the season with a 4–2 victory. Michael got them off to a strong start with an impressive 53–9 win over Adrian. Darren followed up to make it 2–0, defeating Tim 53–39. Hykeham took firm control when Mark extended the lead to 3–0 with a 72–22 win against Rob. Dave then sealed the match by beating Adam 55–35. Castle Ward took the final two frames, with Tim overcoming Michael 49–36 and Adam defeating Mark 41–20. League leaders Lincoln Snooker Club D picked up five out of six points against Lincoln Academy meaning they are now confirmed as league champions. George opened with a 48–35 win over Jacob, and Phil made it 2–0 with a 44–32 victory, also against Jacob. Daniel claimed the Academy’s only point, coming from behind to edge Justin 46–44 on the black. Stu restored the advantage with a 55–17 win over Daniel, while Justin bounced back to beat James 43–26. Stu completed the win in style, defeating James 70–22. Lincoln Snooker Club E recorded their fifth win of the season with a 4–2 success over stablemates Lincoln Snooker Club F, moving above Moorlands & Railway A on match wins. Glynn gave the F team the lead by beating Sam 47–27, but Sam responded in his second frame with a narrow 58–50 win over Noddy to level the match. Charlie then took control with back-to-back victories, defeating Glenn 60–47 and Steve 59–21. Phil secured the overall win for the home side with a 49–21 victory over John. In the final frame, Noddy compiled a break of 27 to beat Phil 65–26. Hykeham A raced into a 2–0 lead against Moorlands & Railway A. Steve Robinson continued his fine season with a 73–40 win over Trev, and Matt followed up with a 64–18 victory against Josh. Liam pulled one back with an excellent 68–13 win over Gary. Dan restored Hykeham’s two-frame cushion by beating Nathan 48–13. However, the final two frames went to Moorlands & Railway A, with Steve Lambert rolling back the years—first defeating Rob 48–13, then producing a superb display to beat Steve Robinson 63–11.

Hykeham are finishing strongly and are a brilliant run of thirteen games unbeaten and they have two matches remaining. The runners up spot is not decided yet and Moorlands & Railway are in second place and have a five point lead over third placed Lincoln Snooker Club G, and these two play each other in the very last fixture of the season. Hykeham have only lost two matches in the Coutts Cues Snooker League, and won 19 of the 28 played. Their latest result was a 4-2 away win against third placed Lincoln Snooker Club G. Ollie put the home side one up when he defeated Pete 61-34. The second frame could of gone either way between Michael Stacey and it was Cyril who edged out his opponent when he came from behind to win on the black 44-43. The third frame was also another close encounter when Cheeky boy (not related to the cheeky girls) when he also won a black ball frame 32-31 against Michael Rudd. Steve put Hykeham on level terms when he defeated Ollie 61-37. Rob put Hykeham in front for the first time with a comfortable victory 67-28 against Michael Stacey. The final frame saw Peter complete the comeback when he beat Cheeky 61-10. Lincoln Snooker Club H recorded their best week for some time when they won 5-1 away at the Cube & Triangle. Clive turned the clock back with flawless performance winning 81-9 against Karl. Gary squared the match at 1-1 with a 45-32 victory against Leigh. Tom is on a good run at the moment and he put his side back in front when he beat Marley 52-24. Ray extended the lead to 3-1 with a 68-23 win against Dan. This was followed by another excellent win for Clive winning 59-12 against Marley. The final frame was also another good result when Tom won 58-17 against Dan to complete the victory. Second placed Moorlands and Railway B were held to a 3-3 draw with bottom placed Castle Ward B. Ken played two consecutive frames to get the match underway, in the first frame he defeated Avril 58-2, he then followed that up winning 69-40 against Andy Campbell and a 2-0 lead. Kev pulled a frame back defeating Craig 54-35 which was followed by a 44-30 victory for Duncan against Matt. The fifth frame saw Matt make up for his earlier defeat when he beat Moorlands Captain Andy Riggall 46-32. The final frame went to the Moorlands when Scott de-feated Dan 57-7 to earn a share of the spoils.
